Consumer health data
Last updated October 8, 2026Previous versions →
Part of our Privacy Policy, on its own page because some states require it to be. It says what health-related information Wendy can hold, where it comes from, what it is for, who sees it, and how to withdraw your consent and delete it.
This is version 3, kept as it read until October 8, 2026. Read the current version.
1.What consumer health data we collect
Only what you volunteer to Wendy at home about your own health: things like sleep, stress, a condition you live with, or the care of a family member, in your own words, and what Wendy remembers from what you said. Wendy never infers any of it, never scores it, and never asks about it in the assessment, which has no question about health, mood, sleep or anything like them.
In work mode, none of this is collected. If a health matter comes up in a work conversation, Wendy stays on what you can do and writes no health note.
2.Where it comes from
Your own words, typed to Wendy at home, and nothing else. Not from an account you connect, not from a workspace, not from anyone else.
3.What it is for
Coaching you, on your home side. Nothing else: not advertising, not research, not a profile of any kind, not a decision about you.
4.Who it is shared with
One company: Anthropic, our AI provider, which processes each message for the single response Wendy gives you and does not train on it. No one else. It is never sold, and it never reaches a workspace, an employer, or another person.
5.How to withdraw consent, and how to delete it
Wendy at home asks for this consent in its first coaching session, in these words:
Wendy is an AI coach, not a therapist, counselor or doctor, and doesn't provide mental-health care. If you're in crisis, contact 988 (US) or your local emergency number; Wendy will always show you these. Wendy may process sensitive things you choose to share, including about your health; you can delete them any time. I understand and consent.
To withdraw it, open Profile & settings and choose to stop keeping health and family details. From that moment Wendy writes nothing more to the personal notebook until you consent again, and Profile & settings offers to delete everything on your home side. To delete what is already there: any one thing Wendy remembers, on the Memory page; every private answer at once, with the control that deletes them all; everything on your home side; or the whole account. A deletion is carried out in the live database within 30 days. Our database provider keeps its own backups for a fixed window — 7 days of point-in-time recovery, and weekly exports for 35 days — and what you deleted ages out of a backup at the end of that window.
6.Your rights, and how to appeal
AskWendy LLC, a Virginia limited liability company, at 4726 16th Rd N, Arlington, VA 22207, is the company responsible for this data and for answering a request about it. In the words of the European law, we are the controller for it.
You may ask to see this data, to have it deleted, to withdraw your consent, and to know who we shared it with. Profile & settings covers seeing and deleting; for anything else, write to support@askwendy.ai. Before we act on a request that arrives by email, we send a six-digit code to the account’s email address and act once you type it back. We answer within 45 days.
If we refuse a request, you may appeal by writing to support@askwendy.ai and saying so. A second person reviews it and answers in writing within 45 days. If we still refuse, the answer tells you how to complain to your state attorney general.
7.Never sold, never used for advertising
We do not sell consumer health data. We do not use it for advertising, and we do not use it to build a profile for advertising. Nothing in Wendy is advertising.
