Notice to your team

The notice to send your team

Last updated September 21, 2026Previous versions →

Before a workspace owner invites anyone, they send their people this note. It says what Wendy is, that joining is a choice, and what the company and the team can and cannot see. Here it is in full, to copy or download.

1.How to use it

Send this to everyone you will invite, before the invites go out. Copy it as it is, or paste it into your own message. Put your workspace name where it says [Workspace name].

When a workspace is set up, Wendy will show you this same text above the box you tick before the first invite can go out. The box will say:

We won't use anything from Wendy in hiring, reviews, promotion, pay or discipline.

We will record that you ticked it, and which version of the notice you saw. Our data processing agreement lets us ask you to show that the notice went out, and to close the workspace and tell its members if it did not.

2.The notice, in full

Everything below is the notice. Nothing in it is optional, and it fits in one email.

The notice to send your team

[Workspace name] is setting up Wendy, an AI coach, for our team. This note says what that means for you.

What Wendy is. Wendy is an AI coach, not a therapist, counselor or doctor, and not HR. Never used for hiring, reviews or pay. It is software, not a person, and it will tell you so.

Using it is your choice. Nobody has to join, and nobody is told if you don't. You can leave at any time and keep everything you made.

What we will not do. We will not use anything from Wendy in any decision about your job: not who gets a role, not reviews, not who moves up, not pay, not discipline. We have agreed to this with Wendy in writing. Wendy can ask us to show that it is still true, can close our workspace if it believes it isn't, and will tell you if it does.

What we can see. Who joined. Each person's card: their code, their pattern, "how to work with me" and what they need from people, in their own words. How any two people fit, and where a group sits, with names. And, as they use Wendy, how they tend to work: their working-style patterns and preferences, how quickly they tend to reply, how many meetings they tend to have, and who they work with most here. Each person sees that list when they join, before anything is shared, and can take any line out of their own profile at any time.

What we cannot see. Your answers, your conversations, your notes, your memory, your inbox, how much you use Wendy, or whether you use Wendy at home at all. Managers and admins see the same profiles the team sees, and nothing more.

Your accounts are yours. Nobody connects an inbox or a calendar for you. If you want Wendy to read your own mail, you connect it yourself, and you can disconnect it any time.

Wendy is software, not a person. It will tell you so, and it will show you crisis resources if a conversation ever suggests you need them. The whole of what a workspace can and cannot see is at askwendy.ai/trust/workspaces.

3.If your people are in New York, Connecticut or Delaware

Some states ask an employer to tell its people, in a set form, when it monitors their electronic activity. Wendy does not monitor anyone: nobody at your company connects an inbox for someone else, and a workspace never sees a person’s messages. Even so, your own note may need a state’s wording. A version of this notice for each of these three states is being prepared and is not here yet:

  • New York: coming.
  • Connecticut: coming.
  • Delaware: coming.

Until they are here, send the notice above and add any wording your own state requires.

4.Copy or download

The button under the notice copies it as it is. The same text is also a plain-text file: Download the notice as a text file. Both carry [Workspace name] where your workspace name goes.

5.What stands behind it

Every sentence in the notice is a promise. The ones about your company are in our data processing agreement, which the workspace owner accepts when the workspace is set up. The ones about what a workspace can and cannot see are written out for your team at what your company can and cannot see, and the rule that nothing from Wendy is used in any decision about a person’s job is in our Terms for everyone.

Questions about the notice go to support@askwendy.ai. A person reads them.
